Fall 2021 Project
  Fall 2021 Project

The New York Continuo Collective announces its Fall 2021 Project

From Theory to Practice

Correct-to-Tasteful-to-Expressive Seventeenth-century Continuo

We will spend the semester focusing on practical application of what the treatises tell us.

The NYCC Fall 2021 project will be a mix of in-person and remote (Zoom) sessions.  The in-person sessions will meet from 6:30 to 9:00 PM in the sanctuary of St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 308 West 46th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues).  The Zoom sessions will meet online from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

N.B.: The Continuo Collective will observe the following Covid-19 protocols for our in-person sessions:

            1.  The plucked and bowed instrumentalists will sit in the area between the pews and the altar, be masked,  and maintain as much spacing as is practical.  Wind instruments will play from the side of the same area as far as is practical from the rest of the ensemble.

            2.  Singers while not observing or singing in chorus will sit in the pews and be masked.

            3.  Solo singers will sing unmasked from the altar.  Duo singers will also sing from the altar, unmasked, maintaining a wide distance from each other.  Unmasked singers will stand as far back on the altar area as is practical.

            4.  All in-person participants MUST be vaccinated.
